Since last year—in honor of International Women's Day—MGallery and Accor Solidarity have joined forces on social networks! How? By donating EUR 1 per interaction generated on a post to an association that is an endowment fund partner, and who takes action to provide training and professional integration for women in difficulty.
Thanks to this support, a donation of EUR 8,000 was made to FXB International, allowing it to purchase sewing machines for its young Burmese beneficiaries trained in sewing and certified by the association, so that they can launch their own income-generating activity.
A high-impact initiative was renewed this year with the DÉPART association and its program "Des Étoiles et des Femmes (Stars and Women)" ... Let's tell you more!
Restaurants as a driver for inclusion
A high unemployment rate for women from disadvantaged neighborhoods, companies struggling to recruit, a large under-representation of women in the cooking profession—so many factors which led to the conceptualization of the training program "Des Étoiles et des Femmes".
Since September 2015, the DÉPART association and La Table de Cana Marseille—1st gourmet caterer in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA) region—have implemented "Des Étoiles et des Femmes". This program enables the promotion of 12 women—from priority districts in the city—to undertake a qualifying CAP kitchen assistant training program, which alternates between the kitchens of renowned chefs.
Between social integration and excellence, this program offers women tailor-made support via mobility solutions, childcare and coaching sessions.
With 100% success at CAP Cuisine, 75% return to employment and 25% pursuing entrepreneurship—these are encouraging results, which promise a great road to success! This project has grown nationally in recent years, with spin-offs initiated in 6 French cities.
Solidarity Accor, which has supported this initiative since its inception, supported the rollout of the project in Montpellier and Bordeaux in 2017, and Île-de-France in 2018. Lead Chefs thus host a beneficiary in their team for 9 months in order to share experience and practical advice.
