Training and insertion of women in difficulty thanks to the creation of a social company manufacturing ‘eco-friendly’ bags.

Chi Heng Foundation, a Chinese NGO established in 1998, aims to support adolescents and their families impacted by AIDS in their education, self-reliance and professional integration.

In 2009, the NGO created a social company manufacturing ‘eco-friendly’ bags with 5 women touched by Aids. The project’s objective is to improve the quality of life of 5 young women impacted by AIDS as well as the life of 38 teenagers by means of economic and social re-integration. The profits of the bags, sold (€2) in Accor hotels in China and local markets, directly fund the education of adolescents in families.

The Accor Foundation* supported the creation of this social company which has been autonomous since 2011.

* In 2013, the Accor Foundation became Solidarity Accor.

«After developing the strategic direction of the program I discussed with VPs of Ibis China and Sofitel China to gain their support and commitment. Meanwhile I galvanized hotels into the program, and presented the program to the field. I visited the village and workshop and was able to motivate involvement. »
