Training and insertion of unqualified young people in hospitality industry careers via a training restaurant called The Passport.
The Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement (IECD) is a French international non-profit development organization founded in 1988 with a mission to provide each person with the resources they need to reveal their talents, feel good about themselves and become responsible contributors to society. The IECD has been operating in Southeast Asia since 2002 and in the Mae Sot region since 2008.
In 2011, in Thailand, the IECD created a professional training program in hospitality industry careers for socially vulnerable young Karen people. The training program offered runs for three years. The teams of AccorHotels Thailand became involved in the training of the young people on building their career plans and help them to find employment.
In 2013, Solidarity Accor supported the training of 30 young Karen people.
Solidarity AccorHotels supports this programme since 2013, by helping more than 190 Karen youngsters to receive training.
The Foundation* supported the project financially of course, but as well we got Encouragement and a sense of responsibility and commitment towards the beneficiaries as well as Accor.
