"L dans la Ville" programme: socio-professional support for young girls from disadvantaged quarters.

Sport dans la Ville, founded in 1998, is the main charity working towards integration through sports in France. Its range of programmes is designed to promote the social and professional integration of the 4,000 young people enrolled. It runs 26 sports centres located in the heart of sensitive neighbourhoods in various municipalities of the Rhône-Alpes region (Lyon, Grenoble, and Saint-Etienne) and in Ile-de-France (Paris, Sarcelles).

To help young girls from these sensitive neighbourhoods to overcome the obstacles hindering their personal and professional fulfilment, in 2009 Sport dans la Ville created a specific programme targeting them: "L dans la Ville". It is structured around sports activities, cultural workshops, discovery initiatives and a professional insertion programme.

Since 2008, the Accor Foundation* has funded several of this charity’s projects in Lyon and Paris. In 2015, Solidarity Accor supports "L dans la Ville" to help achieve the training and professional insertion of 135 girls aged 15 and over in the Rhône-Alpes region.

* In 2013, the Accor Foundation became Solidarity Accor.

In the course of my career, I acquired a few key concepts that I would like to pass on in order to help these young women learn the codes governing the world around us. This project is rewarding from a human perspective, as are all exchanges with others, and I am delighted to be able to help them as far as I can. And I'm convinced that I will learn more from them than what I teach them!
