Creation of a training centre for populations in difficulty through the transformation of agricultural and cosmetic products
Rescue and Hope, a Benin-based NGO founded in 2008, supports vulnerable people through health, education, training and integration programmes. It targets the sanitary well-being of these fragile populations as well as their social and economic emancipation.
In 2016, the NGO set up a training centre where it receives and trains young people in the processing of agricultural products (cassava and palm nuts) and cosmetics (soaps, shampoos and conditioners) and gives them access to modern equipment. This activity, closely tied in with local and traditional know-how, is a powerful economic lever for these rural communities and helps them gain financial independence.
Solidarity AccorHotels supports the creation of this centre, accompanying 50 young people in their training together with 10 groups of women in their income-generating activities.
Helping and participating in the development of local communities is particularly dear to my heart. The Rescue and Hope project, allowing beneficiaries to develop and gain financial autonomy, therefore immediately appealed to me!
