Creation of a training centre for populations in difficulty through the transformation of agricultural and cosmetic products
Rescue and Hope, a Benin-based NGO founded in 2008, supports vulnerable people through health, education, training and integration programmes. It targets the sanitary well-being of these fragile populations as well as their social and economic emancipation.
In 2016, the NGO set up a training centre where it receives and trains young people in the processing of agricultural products (cassava and palm nuts) and cosmetics (soaps, shampoos and conditioners) and gives them access to modern equipment. This activity, closely tied in with local and traditional know-how, is a powerful economic lever for these rural communities and helps them gain financial independence.
Solidarity AccorHotels supports the creation of this centre, accompanying 50 young people in their training together with 10 groups of women in their income-generating activities. Given the great success of the project, Rescue and Hope team expands the center in 2018 to provide more materials to meet the needs of its growing number of beneficiaries and users. Solidarity AccorHotels and the Group's local teams are supporting the NGO in this new phase of capacity building of the training center.
We have succeeded, all together, to change and improve the lives of hundreds of people through this project! The smiles, the thanks and the attention paid to all our committed team remain our best reward and confirms us in the action that is carried out with the collaboration of the NGO Rescue and Hope.
