“Noël Solidaire 2016” by Rejoué: Offering jobseeker training in toy recycling
Rejoué, a French association founded in 2010, helps people in difficulty get back to work by recycling used toys and books. The impact of the association’s action is three-fold: social (employment), environmental (recycling) and economic (reselling). Solidarity AccorHotels and the teams from the Mercure Paris Montmartre have supported this professional integration association since 2015.
In December 2016, several activities to benefit Rejoué were organised by the Group’s hotels in Paris: the teams from the Sofitel Arc de Triomphe, Sofitel Le Faubourg and Royal Monceau collected more than 130 kg of toys while the teams from the Mercure Paris Montmartre bar/restaurant donated ten days’ of tips to the association.
These initiatives helped support Rejoué’s actions for its “Noël Solidaire 2016” operation, which provides toys to disadvantaged, hospitalised or disabled children for the December holidays.
Our team was very enthusiastic about this toy collection event. It was an opportunity for them to give toys a second life, a chance for other children to experience magical moments in the lead-up to Christmas and take part in practical terms in helping employees return to a long-term job.
