Training and integration of young people from difficult neighborhoods—by playing rugby
Rebonds! (“Bounce Back”)—a French non-profit organization set up in 2004—uses rugby as an instrument of education and of social and professional integration for young people in difficulty. It carries out a range of actions in schools, urban neighborhoods, or specialist institutions, where it identifies young people interested in rugby and steers them towards clubs in and around Toulouse.
Once a young person has joined a club, Rebonds! continues to provide support in several areas—sports, social, medical, family, school and work-related—depending on the youngster’s age and the issues encountered.
In 2014, Solidarity Accor is supporting this initiative, which is currently providing support for 31 young people.
I attach great importance to the values conveyed by sport. The integration of young people who haven’t necessarily had a good start in life is also something I care deeply about. I am very proud to be supporting this project!
