“Maison de l'Espoir” (House of Hope) : training and professional insertion in the hotel-restaurant sector for young persons from ethnic minorities
“Poussières de Vie”, a French association created in 2012, has the aim of supporting deprived children and young persons in Vietnam. It provides them with support in different areas: accommodation, meals, donations of clothes, equipment and school supplies, financial support, literacy lessons or professional training. It operates in Hô-Chi-Minh-City and KonTum and provides support to 500 beneficiaries per year.
In July 2014, the association inaugurated the school-hotel "Hnam Chang Ngeh" ("House of Hope" in Bahnar) in KonTum to train young persons from the ethnic minorities of this region in the hotel-catering professions. In this way, the association hopes to encourage the training of these youths and fight against poverty.
Further to the initial support it provided in 2015, Solidarity AccorHotels has maintained its efforts in 2016: following the hotel-school’s move to larger premises, so that training can be provided for a further 30 young people, Solidarity AccorHotels is financing the provision of equipment and supplies for this new building. The AccorHotels teams in Vietnam, which are working alongside Poussières de vie, are hosting training courses for young people at their hotels.
Having worked abroad for 32 years, I never miss an opportunity to support the local NGOs! It is very gratifying to provide one’s help to the most disadvantaged and those excluded from society, I feel that I am useful for a noble cause.
