Developing integration project activities to provide accompaniment for 40 persons in difficulties
The mission of Les Restos du Coeur, a French association created by Coluche in 1985, is to help and provide voluntary support for disadvantaged people, especially with food, by giving them access to free meals and contributing to their social and economic integration.
The association has developed an integration activity around the building industry (renovating apartments: painting, wallpapering, etc.) via the Chartres Integration Workshop project [Atelier Chantier d’Insertion or ACI]. This project has a two-fold impact: firstly, it facilitates the remobilisation of persons in difficulties via vocational activity and secondly, it allows the individuals whose apartment is being renovated (only those in receipt of basic social security payments qualify for the scheme) to rediscover dignity in their home and to escape from their isolation.
The staff from the ibis Chartres Centre Cathedrale hotel and Solidarity AccorHotels are supporting this project, enabling 40 persons experiencing severe difficulties to integrate into society by finding a job via the ACI and 50 households in difficulties to have their apartment renovated.
I have a great and particular interest for professional integration. As a professional, supporting and helping people looking for a job is very interesting!
