Training and insertion of young people in difficulty in catering careers.
Apprentis d’Auteuil is a national foundation set up in 1866 to provide training and education for more than 23,000 socially vulnerable young people every year. It helps them to integrate into society, at the same time as supporting their families in fulfilling their educational role.
Since 2013, a team of employees from seven Sofitel has been participating in the "10 km de l’Equipe" race in Paris to collect donations in support of “Apprentis d’Auteuil” for its Thiais establishment, which trains disadvantaged young persons in the catering professions.
Seven Sofitel hotels took part in the 2016 edition and raised €3,400 for the association. This fund-raising exercise, which Solidarity Accorhotels is backing wholeheartedly, is enabling them to assist the Thiais establishment with the task of creating a vocational certificate in Arts de la Cuisine [‘Kitchen Arts’] and offering new career opportunities for the young people who have been trained.
When I arrived at the Sofitel Paris La Defense in 2014, I was immediately attracted by this wonderful initiative. Running to support the training of disadvantaged young persons that have chosen our profession is a great human adventure!
