“Filo Rosa”: Dressmaking training for 20 women to help them become socially and professionally independent

The Madre Teresa Societa, formed in 2001, is an Italian social cooperative which works to help single mothers. It manages several reception centres and seeks to help these women socially and professionally (psychological support, housing, gaining a driving licence, professional integration, etc.).

In 2015, the Madre Teresa Societa launched a professional training programme on dressmaking. This project is helping 20 women in difficulty become independent.

Solidarity AccorHotels and the AccorHotels teams in the region support the implementation of this programme by contributing to fitting out the dressmaking workshop (equipment, furniture, etc.).

I think it is very important to help others. And it is all the more important because these are women who seek to gain financial independence and become self-sufficient. I feel comforted that whatever little we are doing is making a difference in other people’s lives for the better.
