"Awakening dreams, transforming lives": Training of 24 young rural people in difficulty in the hospitality industry

Kallpa, a Peruvian association created in 1990, has for mission to set up innovative projects responding to strong social issues faced by local populations (education, health, environment, access to employment ...). The association operates in 4 regions of the country: Lima, Cusco, Loreto and Ayacucho.

In 2009, the Kallpa association, in partnership with the municipality of Cusco, created the Center for Youth and Employment (CJE) to enable young people from the region to be accompanied to a successful professional integration and thus avoid the pitfalls of the illegal labor market (domestic). Since 2009, the CJE has welcomed more than 12,000 young people.

In 2017, the CJE wants to create a training course for the hospitality industry, dedicated to young domestic workers in difficulty. Solidarity AccorHotels supports this project by financing its implementation and the Novotel Cusco teams take part in the training through business interventions, visits to the hotel but also by offering internships for young people.

The whole hotel team is very proud to be able to contribute actively to the communities around us, through this project with the Kallpa association. Through this training program, we want to have a positive impact on the lives of young "Cusqueños" who are currently facing vulnerable situations. The professional integration in the Cusco hotel market is an excellent lever and offers the opportunity for these young people to have a future full of hope.
