Hospitality industry career training program for socially vulnerable young people
Fundación Forge was founded in 2005 as an NGO committed to helping young people from underprivileged backgrounds find employment. It offers career training opportunities in 4 areas of the economy where demand for staff is high: sales and customer relations, logistics and distribution, the hospitality industry and administrative skills. It operates in Argentina, Uruguay and since 2012 in Peru.
Since 2007, the Fundación Forge has offered hospitality industry career training to more than 1,400 socially vulnerable young people in Argentina and Uruguay.
In 2013, with the support of the AccorHotels teams in Peru, Fundación Forge introduced this two-year training course.
In 2015, the NGO is offering a shorter ten-month training course, which will enable young people from the Lima suburbs to join the employment market more quickly. Solidarity Accor is supporting this new programme which is targeted at 140 young people in difficulty.
The integration of young people in the labour market is the Fundacion Forge's main mission. We were attracted and motivated to support them because their actions promote ethical behaviour. It is a key challenge for the development of the young people who are the future of Peru.
