Development of activities of social and professional insertion for the FC Bavaria Werkvolk.
FC Bavaria Werkvolk was established in 2003 to promote social integration for youths and grownups on the fringes. This club is inter alia working with “Drogenhilfe Regensburg”, a local association working with people trying to overcome addictions to drugs.
In 2011, the facts that it is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary and that its membership has been growing non-stop since its inception have prompted FC Bavaria Werkvolk to professionalize its social action for young people in difficulty. Football is a tool for social cohesion for marginalized youngsters.
The support of the Accor Foundation* allowed this club to rent and maintain its own pitch and buy new kits and jerseys which enable 48 young people to be supported by the FC Bavaria Werkvolk.
* In 2013, the Accor Foundation became Solidarity Accor.
« I really value the fact that others acknowledge our pro-bono work. It’s not always easy to work with people who used to take drugs and former offenders. The Accor Foundation*’s support is the sort of acknowledgement we need – and it is also encouraging us to build the stable, long-term financial backbone we need, and to do more. »
