« Fashion show 2012 Tissons la Solidarité»: presentation of   second hand clothing transformed by women in difficulty in integration.

Secours Catholique founded the “Tissons la Solidarité” network in 2004. The objective of this association is the recycling of the second hand clothing (collection, sorting, washing and ironing and marketing of the clothing). The beneficiaries are wage-earning workers and receive a socio-professional support as well as a training leading to qualification.

Since 2010, the “Tissons la Solidarité” network has developed its own designer label sponsored by Christian Lacroix. The beneficiaries of this project are accompanied by professionals from the luxe industry who help them to discover the current trends and to redesign their clothing. Each year, two collections (summer/winter) are created in some of integration workshops of the network. A collection of clothing was organized on March 8, 2012 for Woman’s Day in the Accor French head offices. This operation was a success with 700 kg of clothing and haberdashery items collected. These articles will be transformed by the beneficiaries and will be used for the 2012 “Tissons la Solidarité” collection.

The Accor Foundation* wished to join this generous impulse by contributing to the fashion show organization which took place in September 2012.

* In 2013, the Accor Foundation became Solidarity Accor.
