Helping the Entre Mujeres association grow.
Entre Mujeres, a Spanish association founded in 1999, helps women from disadvantaged neighbourhoods in south-east Madrid. It offers social and employment assistance as well as training workshops (Spanish language, IT and how to make lampshades, among others).
In 2009, the association’s founder created an employment assistance company, Soulem, which hires three women on temporary contracts who complete the lampshade workshop. To expand Soulem’s activities and help the association be less financially dependent on this organisation, Entre Mujeres needs additional funds.
Solidarity AccorHotels is supporting Entre Mujeres’ operations to help Soulem grow. The AccorHotels teams working for this association lend support to increase the professionalism of its actions and assist it with furniture orders for the Group’s hotels in Spain.
Rebecca Avila, Communication Director AccorHotels Spain and Portugal
“I strongly believe in the power of women helping women through work. I met one of Soulem’s founders and was very moved by her determination, convictions, discipline and desire to aid women in difficulty.”
Alexandre Chabrot, Brand programmer - Marketing
“This all-female association helping women in difficulty find employment through craft trades immediately spoke to me. It’s a wonderful example of mutual aid and empathy and is a true success story of people working together.”
