«Un futuro solidario»: training and insertion of women in difficulty in hospitality industry.
Cruz Roja Española is a Spanish association that was created in 1864. Its mission is to be as close as possible to vulnerable people through social, medico-social and training actions.
In 2011, AccorHotels Spain and the Cruz Roja Española worked together to set up the «Un futuro solidario» which enable women in difficulty to be introduced to and trained in service professions. These women benefit from a theoretical training (learn key skills for the hospitality industry) and from a practical training, during 2 months, in one of the 19 hotels of the Group participating in the program.
In 2011, Solidarity Accor supported the pilot program which enabled 18 women to be trained. In 2012, Solidarity Accor pursued its support for the training of 36 additional women.
Building on the success of the first two training courses and the continued involvement of AccorHotels employees, in 2014 Solidarity Accor is supporting the new group, allowing 29 women to benefit from training.
« Watching the economic situation of Spain, it is important to help persons, who need it right now, more than ever. We saw the opportunity to use our Hotel structure and professionalism; we live from and use it giving practical formation to women who need it. »
