« ASSOCLIC »: training and insertion of people in difficulty in a computer recycling site.

Created in 2003, Atelier Sans Frontières (ASF) is an association of Insertion par l’Activité Economique (Inclusion via Employment) which hosts underprivileged people, to help them build their life project, to regain their dignity and lead them to a personal and professional stable situation. ASF offers to the employees paid the minimum wage, different insertion sites: computer equipment recycling and logistics for the actors of the fair trade.

Since 2008, ASSOCLIC is a program that aims to provide free computers to the Ile-de-France associations for their insertion, education or training projects. Computers are retrieved from public bodies or companies, to be recycled by the ASF employees in insertion before being given to associations. Thanks to this program, each year, some 100 ASF employees on the ASSOCLIC project received training in computer overhauls and maintenance, logistics and services.

The Accor Foundation* supported this program in 2012 and 2013 and helped 200 people in difficulty to benefit from this training.

* In 2013, the Accor Foundation became Solidarity Accor.

I got involved in this project for its human dimension, because it allows young people in difficulty to rediscover a taste for life through their reintegration in a professional environment.
