Training and insertion of young people in difficulty
Apprentis d’Auteuil is a national foundation set up in 1866 to provide training and education for more than 23,000 socially vulnerable young people every year. It helps them integrate society, while supporting their families to fulfil their educational role. It manages more than 200 establishments in metropolitan France and overseas.
In 2017, Alain Larue, Director of Mercure Lisieux Normandie and his team wished to support the creation of a application restaurant: l'Etoile d'Or, to allow the students in cooking/catering and waitering fields at the Victorine Magne vocational school to practice their learnings in real conditions.
Among the different courses offered, young people can move towards the hotel and restaurant industry (Cooking / Service and Marketing). However, the application restaurant, too far from the city center and too big, attracted few customers. In an effort to rationalize costs, and attractiveness, a restaurant more suited to the school needs, facilitating the learning of young people is now opened.
All the teams and I have been supporting and accompanying for many years the students of the vocational school of the Apprentis d’Auteuil in Lisieux. We have already welcomed more than fifty young people in our establishment for discovery days and intership in the kitchen or in the restaurant
