United States: an exemplary commitment by AccorHotels teams!

Involvement by the Group’s employees - this is one of the fundamental requirements of the financial support provided by Solidarity AccorHotels to selected non-profit associations. As a result of working together, sharing, innovating and personally contributing to these organizations, employees are able to transform and participate in the solidarity initiatives and contribute to their success.

A year ago, the United States team, including the corporate head office team based in Miami and the hotels in North America, united together to focus on the same program – The Lotus House, Barista Bar Program. This project enables 40 women in precarious situations to receive Barista training where they learn everything from making coffee to managing a café. Varying forms of interaction between Lotus House and the corporate Miami office employees have since developed on an ongoing basis.

Discover… and become inspired!

Team challenges, including collecting toys or diapers for children… the employees at the regional headquarters did not lack inspiration and made a record-breaking donation of products to the NGO with more than 15,000 diapers collected in just two weeks!

In May, the North America, Central America, and Caribbean Management team organized an onsite visit. This was the occasion for the employees to discover the premises, meet the women taking part in the program, and take part in recreational and educational activities with the children and women. This interesting immersion in the program consisted of engaging conversation, arts and crafts, educational games, and more, full of unique encounters and exchanges.

In order to go even further and help the NGO implement its initiatives, the team also organized a fundraising initiative: USD$1 was transferred to the Lotus House over a one-month period for each employee who signed up for the “HeForShe” movement, which promotes gender equality in the workplace.

The richness and diversity of this commitment form the strength of the projects supported by Solidarity AccorHotels worldwide. At present, more than 20,000 employees are involved on a day-to-day basis in helping develop these solidarity initiatives. We would like to thank them!
