The Philippine NGO Virlanie choir on tour in France
On Monday 6 April, twenty-some young Filipino children came to France. It was an exciting experience: for most of them, it was their very first time on an aeroplane.
This association, backed by the Sofitel Plaza Manila and Solidarity Accor teams for the past six years, helps get children off the streets of Manila by giving them the support they need (social, psychological, education, etc.). Solidarity Accor has supported several training programmes in service professions for these young people to give them the skills they need to become independent.
After more than 24 hours on the road, the choir arrived at the Novotel in Roissy-en-France and was welcomed by General Manager Dominique Grandjonc for a short rest before heading off to the north of France to start their tour. With 16 dates in 20 days, these young people from Virlanie had quite the challenge ahead of them!
Laurent Legat, Head Chef at Novotel Roissy had a snack and special surprise waiting for them: to celebrate Easter, the children got to eat chocolate eggs. To thank the Novotel team, choir director Malou had them give an improvised concert.
