Solidarity Accor project holders go green!

On Thursday, June 19th, 2014 at Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Christophe Lejeune, Director of Human Resources Accor Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Philippines, Lionel Moinard, General Manager Novotel Saigon Centre, both project holders, and Chris Messer, Sustainable Development and Public Relations Manager Accor Asia, took part in the workshop organised by the Green Youth Collective and LP4Y NGOs for young disadvantaged Vietnamese women. Solidarity Accor has supported Green Youth Collective's vocational training programme for "green professional activities" since 2013.

The workshop provided advice on the upkeep of an organic garden and the creation of vertical gardens from entirely natural materials. The young trainees now grow their own vegetables. It is hugely satisfying to see the seeds germinating just one week after being sown!

Marked by a friendly and humorous atmosphere, the day was a real success, as witnessed by project holders. Lionel greatly enjoyed this day spent with the youngsters and has promised to return to see them soon.  As to Christophe, he found it very rewarding to meet the young Vietnamese beneficiaries, and expressed "the GYC team is really working to set up new opportunities for many of the disadvantaged young people of Ho Chi Minh City."
