Poland : Cheque awarded to the Nobody's Children Foundation
On Wednesday, April 16th, 2014, at the Sofitel Warsaw Victoria in Poland, Laurent Picheral, CEO Orbis/Accor group in Poland, COO HotelServices Germany, Poland and Central Europe and Administrator of Solidarity Accor, has handed over a check for 18,000 euros to the Nobody's Children Foundation during the press conference organised to present the second edition of the Accordion for autonomy. Initiated by the staff of the Novotel Warszawa Centrum, this programme, supported by Solidarity Accor since 2012, aims to promote the vocational integration of disadvantaged young people aged 18 to 21.
The press conference brought together a dozen journalists, Group employees involved in the project and the Polish Minister for Labour and Social Policy who sponsors it.
Laurent Picheral stressed the importance of this programme for Polish businesses: "This project not only has a social dimension, it also has an economic one. The businesses taking part in it benefit from young and motivated employees who are eager to learn and develop."
In turn, Wladyslaw Kosiniak Kamysz, Minister for Labour and Social Policy, added: "The Accordion for autonomy is a true example of corporate social responsibility. We decided to sponsor this action because it is also our mission and our duty to showcase good examples and good practices."
Finally, Monika Sajkowska, Chairperson of the Nobody's Children Foundation, emphasised the project's strengths : “Accordion for autonomy envisages not only support and training, but also specific internships and opportunities for further development. This project helps these persons to become active at the beginning of their professional career and to overcome the fear of failure.”
