Official ceremony for the Accor Foundation’s contribution to the NGO Children of the Dawn

On September 20, 2011, the NGO Children of the Dawn has received a donation of €14,000 from the Accor Foundation to support “My future, my responsability“, which aims to help young people from South Africa to find a professional path and integrate society.

Proposed by Bruce Prins (Operations Project Manager for co-ordination and support of HR, IT, Sustainable Development and Training, Accor South Africa), the project “My future, my responsability“ belongs to Training and insertion category and will run from July 2011 to July 2012.

« My future, my responsibility » is a professional training programme set up by Children of the Dawn for 279 rural youngsters with HIV/Aids. The project helps young people in their school curriculum (key skills, career…) and in their daily life (medical support, prevention of dangers of living in the streets…). Workshops are organized in 7 rural communities in South Africa. Accor South Africa is very involved in this project: young people are received in 28 hotels of the Group. They can meet Accor employees and discover the hotel business’s various job skills.

Children of the Dawn is supporting existing or new initiatives to help orphans and children with HIV/Aids in disadvantaged rural communities in South Africa. Today the NGO supports 790 children and adolescents.
