Mobilization of Accor employees and Foundation in the Fiji Islands

A €10,000 euros emergency funds to support the most severely affected following Fiji’s floods in April 2012

Since April 2012, following  Fiji’s terrible floods that affected the western area most, the spread of leptospirosis, dengue fever,  typhoid and malnutrition  affecting mainly children increased dramatically. Accor Fiji  requested the Accor Foundation’s support as a matter of urgency.

The Accor Foundation responded immediately to support the Cure Kids association in order to help the most severely affected by this natural disaster.

A €10,000 emergency fund has been released to buy and distribute 4,000 boxes of milk powder for 200 children suffering from severe malnutrition.

End October 2012, dozens of the Cure Kids association volunteers, including several Accor employees, mobilized to bring this powdered milk to the children of the paediatric hospital at Lautoka in Fiji.
