India: AccorHotels teams in India rewarded for their CSR commitment in the second edition of the "CSR Impact Prize"

AccorHotels has been recognized for its Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives by French representatives under the Education category for the ‘Accor Centre of HOPE’ by His Excellency the French Ambassador to India.

This distinction, set up at the initiative of three structures - the Conseillers du Commerce Extérieur de la France (CFEC), the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce (IFCCI), and Business France - is intended to reward French businesses operating in India with a strong CSR policy. AccorHotels was chosen among the 12 finalists of the "Education" category. The other winners were Capgemini in the "Social" category and Total Oil India in the "Environment" category.

This award recognizes the commitment of AccorHotels employees working with the Indian NGO, HOPE Foundation. Since 2012, AccorHotels and Solidarity Accor have supported the "Accor Centre of Hope" in New Delhi, a centre training extremely disadvantaged young people for trades in the hotel and catering industry. The Human Resources teams and employees of the ibis Delhi Airport take part in the trainings courses and tutor the young people during their internships. A magnificent example of solidarity at work in the field!

Jean-Michel Casse, Senior Vice President – Operations, AccorHotels India said, "We are really happy to have received this award. Our wider mission at Solidarity Accor is to bridge links between cultures by supporting their development and this recognition further strengthens the group's efforts in helping to create a better socio economic status for the underprivileged".

Ashwin Shirali, AccorHotels Human Resources Director in India, was therefore very proud to accept this award at the 2nd edition of the "CSR Impact Prize" on September 25, 2015: "The award is a great and visible testimony to AccorHotels India's efforts, supported by Solidarity Accor, in providing meaningful and quality vocational training to bring about transformative change by supporting and integrating the less privileged into the mainstream community. It is a tribute to the efforts of our wonderful hotel team at the ibis Delhi Airport who played a pioneering role in educating and training these students. The award will be a huge motivator to enhance our efforts and endeavours to establish and make successful more such "Accor Centre of HOPE" in other cities where our hotels are located."

Congratulations to the teams in India for this wonderful award in recognition of 3 years of strong commitment!
