Burma: a welcome gift for the children of Novotel Yangon Max customers

The teams of the Novotel Yangon Max hotel and Solidarity Accor have lent their support for over a year to the NGO FXB International to train and find work for 80 young underprivileged Burma women.

The training on hand weaving and sewing has been very successful, with all of the women from the 2014 programme finding work.

The Novotel teams were so pleased with the project’s outcome that they decided to offer a welcome gift to the children of its customers: dolls made by participants in the association’s programme.

The dolls are dressed in a traditional longyi skirt and have their cheeks painted with thanaka, a plant-based cosmetic paste local young people wear on their faces and arms. A lovely souvenir of Burma!
